
Mere Christianity – C.S. Lewis
Now I am sure you’ve heard of this guy before – he is best known for his Chronicle of Narnia Series, and this book is actually a compilation of talks that Lewis has given that have been gathered into a book, it’s more of a philosophical approach to faith. You can read the whole thing through or dip into it for just a chapter. It’s a very, very good book.

Jesus Is – Judah Smith
Judah Smith is a church pastor from Seattle, Washington. At the heart of this book is the question ‘Who is Jesus to you?’ Most people have thoughts or ideas about Jesus already and this book helps form a clearer picture of who Jesus is. As an aside, Judah has Justin Bieber and the golfer Bubba Watson in his congregation so if there are any beliebers or PGA tour fans out there this may be the book for you.

The Reason For God – Tim Keller
Tim Keller is a pastor in New York, and is a great thinker, a great philosopher, and this book is a really helpful, reasoned argument for God, His existence, and all sorts of things to do with faith. There are a lot of topics to look at if you have specific questions you want to dig into.

Mud, Sweat and Tears – Bear Grylls
Known and admired by millions as the star of Man vs. Wild, Bear has survived where few would dare to go. Now, in this autobiographical book Bear tells the story of his action-packed life and reveals aspects about his Christian faith too. One quote he says that I find intriguing is this : “To me, my Christian faith is all about being held, comforted. Forgiven, strengthened, and loved – yet somehow that message gets lost on most of us.”

God on Mute – Pete Greig
This book is about the miraculous power of prayer alongside the pain of unanswered prayer. Pete founded a global movement of prayer called 24‐7 Prayer and leads a church in London.

Why Trust the Bible? – Amy Orr‐Ewing
Amy had a lot of questions on how to defend her faith around friends and professors, so she decided to do an in-depth study on the most frequent questions like - ‘Are the original manuscripts reliable?’ ‘What about other holy books?’ ‘What about all the wars?’ – and wrote a book to answer those types of questions.
